Another “healthy” snack food

Ingredients

  • 1  15oz can of garbanzo beans
  • 1 T tahini* (sesame seed butter, can be found in ethnic food isle of most grocers)
  • Juice from 1 lemon
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 dash soy sauce
  • Curly Parsley, chopped

Preparation

  1. Drain and rinse can of garbanzo beans.
  2. Place in food processor or VitaMix, along with remaining ingredients.
  3. Process until smooth, adding water as necessary for ease in processing.
  4. Spread on a platter, sprinkle with parsley (fresh is best).
  5. Cut whole Wheat Pita bread into wedges, and toast.
  6. Arrange pita wedges around edges of platter.
  7. Also good in sandwiches as spread.
