Ketchup

I try to avoid high fructose corn syrup, which seems to be in just about everything these days. Making your own ketchup is a good way to avoid it and give you a homemade condiment.


Ingredients
  • 6 oz can of tomato paste
  • 10 ½ oz can tomato puree
  • ½ c water
  • ¼ c lemon juice
  • 2 T pitted dates or honey
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 T molasses
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder

Preparation:

Blend in Vita-Mix or blender until smooth. Thin with water if consistency is too thick.
