I love the taste of this dish with a good marsala wine. It gives it an elegant flavor that can’t be beat. Serve this dish with wide, whole wheat noodles or rice.
Ingredients
- 1 large onion, chopped
- 1 pound sliced fresh mushrooms
- 1 cup rehydrated Soy Curls (with beef flavoring added)
- 2 T marsala or white wine
- 2 T soy sauce
- 1 cup soy milk
- 1 cup “beef-flavored” broth
- 2 T cornstarch mixed in 1/4 cup cold water
- Whole wheat noodles or brown rice
Preparation
- Water sauté onion in a large skillet until the onion is tender.
- Add the mushrooms, and cook until they are slightly limp.
- Add the “Soy Curls” and remaining ingredients, except the cornstarch mixture. Cover and cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Add the cornstarch mixture to the pan and stir until thickened.
- Serve over prepared noodles or rice.
